Services

Examinations

Thorough and complete examinations, diagnosis, treatment plans, and digital X-rays.

Gingival Health

We work as a team to help patients achieve their optimal oral health. This includes cleanings, root planings, periodontal maintenance visits, and, if necessary, the involvement of a periodontist.

Removal of Decay

After the removal of any decay, our office uses many types of restorations. These include: white composite, silver amalgam, gold, or bonded ceramic and porcelain.

It is important to us that we work with our patients to help prevent decay and the further destruction of tooth structure.

Crown and Bridge

We have several options for replacing broken or missing teeth. We work as a team to evaluate both aesthetics and function before making treatment decisions.

Partials and Dentures

An important treatment option we use when there is a need to replace several missing teeth.

Implant Dentistry

This involves a team of specialists working closely to provide you with your optimal treatment and the replacement of any missing teeth.

Aesthetic Enhancement

This includes, for example, bleaching, porcelain laminate veneers, tooth-colored fillings, and bonding.

Extractions

Teeth that must be removed are either evaluated and treated at our office or, if necessary, referred to a specialist.

Nightguards

These help protect teeth for anyone who may be clenching or grinding while sleeping.

Custom Fabricated Sports Mouthguards

Many facial sports injuries can be prevented with the use of a sports guard. Our office highly recommends them for anyone who plays sports.

Fluoride Treatments

An important component of tooth decay prevention, especially for children.

Nitrous Oxide

A relaxation technique to help make your visit more comfortable.

Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to alter the color of natural tooth enamel. It is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile.

Whiter teeth has become the number one aesthetic concern of most patients, and there are a number of ways to accomplish this. The most popular method is an at-home tooth whitening system that whitens teeth dramatically. Tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel. It is therefore important to evaluate whether older fillings, crowns, or other implants require replacement. Any necessary restoration replacement will be done after bleaching, so we can ensure they match your newly bleached teeth.

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed every several years or more often if you smoke or drink coffee, tea, or wine.

Reasons for Tooth Whitening

  • Fluorosis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).
  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.
  • Stained teeth due to medication (such as tetracycline).
  • Yellow or brown stained teeth.
  • What does Tooth Whitening Involve?

At-home tooth whitening usually requires two visits to our office. At the first appointment, impressions (molds) will be made of your teeth to fabricate custom clear, plastic trays.

At your second appointment, you will try on the trays for proper fit. If necessary, adjustments will be made. The trays are worn with a special whitening solution for one to two hours daily. It is normal to experience some tooth sensitivity while you are whitening your teeth. However, this will subside shortly after you have stopped bleaching.

You will receive care instructions for your teeth and trays and be encouraged to visit your dentist regularly to help maintain a beautiful, healthy, white smile.

Referral to and Coordination of Specialists

Achieving optimal oral health is a team effort that involves our office members, the patient, the family, and sometimes a specialist. We work closely with a highly qualified team of specialists, including the following:

  • Endodontists | Treatment involving the root and nerve of the tooth.
  • Periodontists | Treatment involving the supporting structures of the teeth.
  • Oral Surgeons | Treatment involving surgical procedures.
  • Pediatric Dentists | Dr. Broadway is a family dentist and takes additional continuing education courses for the treatment of children. Therefore, she refers only select cases. She does, however, consult extensively with a pediatric dentist.
  • Prosthodontists | Specialize in full mouth reconstructions and dentures.
  • Orthodontists | Corrects the bites and smiles of adults and children with braces, retainers, and other appliances.

Relaxation Techniques

We have nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and relaxation music with headphones to help increase your level of comfort during dental procedures. We can also offer you a warm lavender eye pillow. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help your visit be the best experience you have had in a dental office.

Emergencies

We have 24-hour emergency coverage. If patients need after-hours care, they can call our office, which will direct them to Dr. Broadway’s emergency number or to the number of another dentist who may be covering.

Patient Safety

Patient safety and protection is of the utmost importance to us. We sterilize all instruments and handpieces after each patient. Our instruments are bagged for steam and pressure sterilization and are opened just before use. After each appointment, we thoroughly clean and disinfect all surfaces. You may also notice that we cover all surfaces with disposable items. We wear new masks and gloves for each patient.

Please feel free to ask about our patient protection procedures. We will gladly demonstrate them for you.

Children

Dr. Broadway recommends children be seen by age two and a half or, if parents have any questions or concerns, even earlier. Education on dental care needs should begin at an early age. We encourage family visits. If you would like your child to observe an appointment, you are welcome to bring them to your own initial visit or to their sibling’s initial visit. Our philosophy encourages a positive environment. We allow children to set the pace at their first visit so they feel positively about their dental care. Our office has several children’s books in the waiting room that discuss all aspects of dental care, such as brushing, visiting the dentist, fillings, pulling teeth, sugar bugs, loosing teeth, and the tooth fairy. We also have special prizes at the end of each visit.
